Hon Prof Awad Hag Ali Ahmed

Hon Ahmed is a Member of the Parliament of Sudan who has spent most of his working life as an educationist. After obtaining a B.Sc. M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Universities of Khartoum, Kent at Canterbury and New Castle Upon-Tyne in England respectively, he held a range of senior teaching positions at the Universities of Khartoum, Umm-al-Qura in Saudi Arabia and was Vice Chancellor of the University of Al-Neelain for many years.

Author of several international publications on information technology, Hon Ahmed’s work spanned British Council and Ford Foundation fellowships at Newcastle, Liverpool and Stanford Universities respectively.  

Former Member of the Pan African Parliament, and Special Advisor of the Minister of Communication & Information Technology, he has received one of Sudan’s highest Awards for promoting information technology and Computer education as a tool for Africa’s development.
